On March 17, 2005 Reach Air Medical Services expanded their service to the Yuba County airport by placing an Agusta 109 helicopter staffed with a Pilot, a Nurse and a Paramedic in service. The Air Ambulance is staffed 24hrs a day every day of the year. The placement of the aircraft at the Yuba County airport drastically reduces the amount of time it takes to get an air ambulance to the scene of an accident in the Yuba-Sutter area. The patient is then only a 15 minute flight away from Sacramento where they can be treated further for any life threatening injuries they may have. The medical crew with REACH is highly trained, typically having extensive Emergency, Critical care and EMS backgrounds. REACH has one of the best Crew-member training programs in the nation and is overseen by medical directors that have countless years of experience in Emergency medicine and Pediatric Critical Care. REACH is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems and has been since 1998. They are leaders in the arena of Medical Flight Transportation as they have had many “firsts” in the industry including there own GPS routing’s and approaches to some of hospitals in Northern California. REACH has Instrument Rated aircraft and use night vision technology while flying at night. REACH has safely transported more than 37,000 patients throughout the last 21 years.
